Press Release for Topped Chef 5/8/13

“TOPPED CHEF” AUTHOR WILL GREET HUNGRY MYSTERY FANS AT RJ JULIA BOOKSELLERS MAY 8
Local author Roberta Isleib, aka Lucy Burdette will be on hand to discuss her  11th published mystery at RJ Julia Booksellers in Madison CT on May 8. TOPPED CHEF, the third installment in Madison resident Isleib’s Key West food critic mystery series, will be published by NAL/Penguin on May 7. Isleib is writing her new series using the pen name Lucy Burdette, borrowed from her maternal grandmother.  The books feature Hayley Snow, an aspiring food critic and amateur sleuth living in America’s southernmost island paradise.

In TOPPED CHEF, Key Zest food critic Hayley Snow is tapped as a judge on a reality TV cooking show. Stakes are high because the winner is slated to become the next cooking superstar. When another judge turns up murdered, Hayley must figure out who’s taking the contest too seriously before she becomes the next victim.

The Florida Book Review has said “in a crowded cozy market, Lucy Burdette’s Key West Food Critic series stands out among its peers.”

Isleib aka Burdette has just signed a contract for the next two books in the Key West series; MURDER WITH GANACHE is scheduled for a February 2014 release.

Isleib’s first mystery series included 5 books featuring Cassie Burdette, an aspiring golf professional.  Isleib’s Advice Column series featured Rebecca Butterman, a fictional psychologist who lived in Guilford with a private practice in New Haven. Isleib’s books and stories have been short-listed for Agatha, Anthony, and Macavity awards. She is a past-president of Sisters in Crime, a national organization founded to support women crime fiction writers.

Isleib/Burdette will appear at RJ Julia’s Booksellers on May 8 at 7 pm to launch TOPPED CHEF.
